Rotarycars in Sweden Part I
This RX5 belongs to Anders Lund, Ronneby. He bought the car in -95. He saw a add in Motorbörsen (used cars mag.) called the owner, asking "What the **** is this??". The answer was simple.. "A rotary Mazda". He jumped on the train, bought the car and drove it 750km home the same night. Before this he had never driven a rotary.
When he bought it it had 100 000km on the clock and was in good original trim. He drove it for a year and then decided that he wanted more power (a totally normal reaction for the newborn rotary freak!). So he started looking for some sort of turbo conversion.
He saw a new add and called again. This time he came to Martin Forsberg, a REAL rotary freak, together they decided that they should get a new engine. The car was driven to Martin and he build a new 13B streetport.
After this he needed to update the exhaust ending in a 2,5" system with a 3" tailpipe.
He also updated the fuel system with two high-pressure pumps in the rear. All this feeds a Dellorto 48.
The original wheels were fixed to look nice and fitted with four Michelin MTX 185/70/14.

The car will have a new paint in the near future.........probably in original color.

This RX4 belongs to Micke Algesson, Stockholm. It has been running at the strip before with lots of different combinations.
Now Micke has taken it all the way and rebuild the most part of the chassi and body.
The engine will be a bridgeported 13B with a Garret turbo and management system from SAAB. The rearaxel is a Ford 9" with Strange parts within. The gearbox is a G-force five speed.  The car will hopefully race in the near future.........
Here are some RallyCross cars...at the top, Bosse Anderssons VW, he's running a 13B with 48IDA, lots of power!
The Yellow 323 is driven by Henrik Hansen using a bridgeported 13B with a 48IDA.
The Green RX4 belongs to Tommy Svensson, this car ran really good. He has won some races this year...
He's also running the Bidge13B/48IDA combination. He has his own dony at home, and it showed!

The last race I saw he outran a BMW 320i compact with a 2.3l 6 cylinder engine.....
Here is a link to his site.

The car has been sold to Mikael Mohlin. It has been rebuilt as a full tube frame car. Pictures are coming when the car is ready. He will keep racing in "Etab Data Cup".

Old info ---> This is Janne Walters circutracing RX7. He has been running the car now for some years, but last year he stepped up to take the championship in a class called "Etab Data Cup". As you can see it has been modified quite allot. He is running a bridgeported 13B with a Weber 51 IDA. New for this year is a new ignition system (swedish made ProSpark). They made about 25 more bhp.....last year he used MSD...

This 1971 NSU Ro80 belongs to Magnus Lahi. He bought the car in -71 when it had just 6000km on the 'clock'.
It was then used as a everyday car from many years.
When he stopped using it he put it away in his garage and it has been sitting there ever since..
At the time it was put away it had run over 130000km without as much as a single failure!!!!
He has tree more Ro80's....but as he is a Citroen fan these days it did not look as he would get them back ont the road for some time...

But who knows........(maybe we'll see a Birotor here sometime...)

This one has just changed owners... check out their website at:
www.spottbil.com
It's built on a VW chassi and uses a street ported 12A with org carburator.

With a weight of just 600kg It must be a quick one...

This is Niklas Citroen GS Birotor.
He bought two of these in the southern parts of France. One of the cars was derivable and the other was bought as a spare car.
Pictures of the engine are form the spare car. One of the few external parts that are different from the "real" GS are the front fenders. These are alittle bit wider.
The exhaust looked complicated, lots of heat protectors. The Birotor has the typical Citroen thing, falling to the ground when shut off. This is no good when you have a very HOT exhaust.
As far as I know these are the only cars in Sweden. If you have any info about the car let me know.
Find his site in my links sections.....

This was my first rotary car a 1983 RX7. I bought it in late 1994. The only mod I did was a new exhaust, Racing Beat headers and new 2" mufflers. I used it every day during the -95 and -96 summers. I swapped it for a similar one with a 13B turbo engine.
I had a call from the current owner asking for a new engine...
I'll make sure he get's one.
This is a 1973 RX3 coupe'. It has a street ported 13B with a Weber 48 IDA, Racing Beat lightweight flywheel (steel) R&B clutch, Limited slipp diff and 2,5" exhaust. Best ET 13.65 and 162km/h. Owner Kenneth Nyström...... Stockholm.
Some pic's from a Wankelmeeting held in Stockholm the summer -96

It seems quite odd that we here in Sweden have a COSMO Sport, but it's a fact, We have one! And it's a L10A!!!

When I saw this car for the first time I did not believe my eyes, at the time I did not know that Olle Olsson (Mazda Importer) owned one!

I ran in to it at my local Mazda dealer when buying parts for my '3! The car looks large when you see it on a picture, but in real life it's quite small! The 10A engine looks (as always) very good. It's just a beautiful car!

Here are some old pic's from wankelmeetings in Sweden.

Here is one of the very few 3'rd gen. RX-7's that were imported to Sweden. My friend Pelle Granbom feeling the car at a carshow.I think there are around 15 sold inte Sweden. There are many imported from Germany in the last years.
